Do you know the way to Monterey?
This Monday morning I hop on the great silver bird and head west to California and the 16th annual Automobilia event on the 21st and 22nd of August in the ballroom of the Embassy Suites Seaside in Monterey. While a travel a good deal in support of my artwork, this trip is special on a s(at least) a couple levels for me—it’s my first visit to the Monterey Motorsports week and, thanks to Doug Buchanan and Garage Graphics, it will be the debut of the life-sized, backlit display of my recently completed GT40 MKIV artwork (including Dan’s authorized signature).
First, if you never seen one of Doug’s incredible displays and are in the area, you owe it yourself to come by the Embassy Suites ballroom and check it out. I think you’ll be positively blown away by what you see. Second, the Automobilia event features work and displays by some really fantastic automotive artists, writers, and publishers all together in one place. Lastly, if you live on the west coast and have bought (or would like to buy) artwork from me, this is our big chance to meet each other…and I would absolutely love to put faces to the names.
And apologies to Dionne Warwick and Burt Bacharach for appropriating the line to “Do you know the way to San Jose?” Just couldn’t resist.
