Jaguar MK 2 Saloon

Produced from 1959 through 1968 (counting the 240 and 340 derivatives), the Jaguar MK 2 saloon became the marque’s entry into the mid-sized luxury and executive car market. Initially equipped with a 120BHP 2.4 litre engine, the sports saloon was also fitted with the 3.4 litre and later 3.8 litre versions of the XK motor that produced 210 BHP and 220 BHP respectively, enough power to allow the saloon to reach near 100mph. A Daimler version was fitted out with 2.5 litre V8 engine making 142BHP.

The popular luxury car was fitted standard with four-wheel disc brakes while power steering, overdrive, and automatic transmission could be added at extra cost. Around September 1967, the 2.4 litre and 3.4 litre Mark 2 cars were rebadged as the 240 and 340 respectively while the 3.8 litre model was dropped from the line—all in anticipation of the appearance of the new Jaguar XJ6 model in September of 1968.

My Jaguar MK 2 illustration is available as an archival print, on brushed aluminum or as a large-scale, dye-sublimated display. Prints may be ordered in any of the factory exterior and interior color combinations and with your choice of available options.
