Jaguar XKSS Display

Perhaps more than any other car, the Jaguar XKSS raises the question, “What might have been”?, had not the fire at the Browns Lane factory destroyed nine of the original run of twenty-five cars ending production and ushering in the E-type. Certainly, the XKSS might have never been built at all had not Sir William Lyons not wanted to recoup some of the investment made in the D-type race cars after Jaguar withdrew from competition. Sir William correctly assessed that the converted D-types would do rather nicely in the American market with its thirst for European performance cars. Would the XKSS have delayed the introduction of the E-type? Would Jaguar have continued to build additional XKSSs after the original 25 chassis had been converted? We will never know but we can still enjoy the remarkable lines and performance of these astonishing cars.

The Sports Car Art Jaguar XKSS limited edition fine art displays come in the factory original British Racing Green with British tan interior trim, although you may order your print in a selected number of both exterior and interior colors. Prints are available showing the convertible top either up or stowed and with or without the luggage rack. The are also available with either my standard Jaguar background (black gradient) or, if you prefer, without any background color at all.

DCTownsend and Doug Buchanan in front of the Cunningham display

About Garage Graphics® — Doug Buchanan is a car guy (Arnolt-Bristol, Jaguar S1 coupe, and others). His father is a car guy (Morgan, Dodge Viper). His grandfather was a car guy (Voisin Demi-Berline). He’s also the third-generation owner of Renze Display, a 120 year-old exhibit and large scale digital graphics company in Omaha, Nebraska. For years, Doug has wanted to combine his love of cars and large scale graphics and it all recently came together with the addition of dye-sublimation printing equipment capable of producing images as high as 10 feet. Garage Graphics® was born! The effect of the super-sized graphics is absolutely stunning—made more so by the addition of dimmable LED backlighting—and something you just have to see to fully appreciate its impact.
