While the Sprite was about to fade into history (along with Austin Healey), the Midget soldiered on adding more refinement and polish with each iteration, though it remained an inexpensive (if rather small) sporting car. Federal regulation continued to sap the already meager horsepower with each new model year and, even if performance may have suffered, the Midget remained popular until British Leyland discontinued importing it into the United States.

The Sports Car Art illustration is faithful to the original in every detail including numerous factory and period options as well as all of the available factory exterior and interior color combinations.
